Brahms, Johannes: Symphony No.4 in E minor, op.98

Quinn Mason (b. 1996), praised as "one of the most sought after young composers in the
country" (Texas Monthly) and a master of orchestral color (Tallahassee Democrat), has emerged
as a leading figure in contemporary music and one of most performed composers of his
generation. Winner of the 2025 ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Award, his works have
been commissioned and performed by over 220 orchestras across the US and Europe,
including the San Francisco, Seattle, Detroit, Dallas, Cincinnati, Utah, Phoenix, and Kansas
City symphonies, Minnesota Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic, NYO-USA, and European
ensembles like Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI and Sheffield Philharmonic.
As a conductor, he won the 2025 Emerging Maestros Competition with the members of the
Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and debuted with the Berliner Symphoniker, Orchestra
Filarmonica di Firenze, Vratsa Symphony OrchestraNorth Czech Philharmonic and Siamo
Orkest, with upcoming guest conducting in the UK, Albania and Japan. He has studied with
masters like Jorma Panula, Esa-Pekka Salonen, and Marin Alsop, guest-conducted over 40
orchestras worldwide, and has also studied closely with composers such as David Maslanka,
Jake Heggie, Christopher Theofanidis, and Libby Larsen.
