PERRYSBURG — The Perrysburg Symphony Orchestra will return to the Music at the Market series on Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. with a special Patriotic Pops Concert on the Commodore Square Lawn, 140 E. Indiana Ave.
The free outdoor concert offers an opportunity for families and music lovers to gather as the community prepares for the Independence Day holiday weekend. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets and enjoy an evening of live orchestral music in the open air of historic downtown Perrysburg.
Under the direction of Music Director and Conductor Travis Jurgens, the orchestra will present a program of patriotic favorites and American classics celebrating the nation's rich musical heritage. The concert will feature selections that reflect the many traditions that have shaped American music, from stirring patriotic works to pieces inspired by Broadway, film, and popular American composers.
Joining the orchestra for the evening will be guest soloist Kira McGirr. McGirr, a mezzo-soprano, holds degrees in vocal performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and Oberlin College & Conservatory. She currently serves as Executive Director of the Cleveland Chamber Choir and will perform several featured selections throughout the concert.
The Patriotic Pops Concert is presented by Laibe Electric with support from Lakeside Interior Contractors, BluSky Restoration Contractors, Chick-fil-A, and Experience Perrysburg. Music at the Market is coordinated by Main ART-ery, with sound provided by Joe Gozdowski of Sicily Sound. |
